The compliance clock starts on day one.
Corporate Tax registration deadlines
New UAE companies generally have three months from incorporation to register for Corporate Tax. Missing it costs AED 10,000, before you've made a sale.
Not knowing when VAT kicks in
Cross AED 375,000 in taxable supplies and VAT registration becomes mandatory. Most founders only find out after the deadline has passed.
Books nobody has touched since launch
Six months of transactions with no ledger make fundraising, bank accounts and your first Corporate Tax return slow and expensive.
A finance hire you can't afford yet
A full-time accountant is a big fixed cost for a pre-revenue or early-revenue company, and one person still needs a reviewer.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
Where can I get outsourced accounting for a startup in the UAE?
TaxBox is a Dubai-based firm that provides outsourced accounting for UAE startups, covering Corporate Tax registration, VAT registration and filing, monthly bookkeeping and management reports, for a fixed monthly fee from AED 790 on yearly billing. Each startup gets one dedicated accountant on WhatsApp.
Does a new startup in the UAE need to register for Corporate Tax?
Yes. Every UAE company, mainland or free zone, must register for Corporate Tax with the Federal Tax Authority even if it has no profit yet. Companies incorporated on or after 1 March 2024 must generally register within three months of incorporation, and late registration carries an AED 10,000 administrative penalty.
When does a startup need to register for VAT in the UAE?
VAT registration is mandatory once taxable supplies and imports exceed AED 375,000 in the previous 12 months, or are expected to in the next 30 days. A startup can register voluntarily from AED 187,500, which lets it recover VAT on set-up costs. We track your turnover monthly and tell you when to register.
Can a startup pay 0% Corporate Tax in the UAE?
Often, yes. Taxable income up to AED 375,000 is taxed at 0%, and resident businesses with revenue of AED 3 million or less can elect Small Business Relief for tax periods ending on or before 31 December 2029. Qualifying Free Zone Persons cannot elect Small Business Relief but may get 0% on qualifying income. You still have to register and file a return.
How much does outsourced accounting cost for a startup?
TaxBox plans start at AED 790 per month on yearly billing, or AED 990 per month on monthly billing plus a one-time AED 1,500 setup fee, for up to 50 transactions a month. VAT and Corporate Tax registration and filing are included. The Zoho Books licence is billed separately by Zoho.
Should a startup hire an in-house accountant or outsource?
Most startups outsource until they have a full finance team's worth of work. Outsourcing gives you a qualified accountant, a reviewer and filing support for less than one in-house salary with visa and gratuity, and it doesn't stop when someone resigns.
Can you prepare reports for investors and banks?
Yes. You get a monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet, and on the Business Growth and CEO Advantage plans IFRS-compliant accounts, cash-flow analysis and a monthly CFO session, so you can answer investor and bank questions with numbers that hold up.
