TaxBox ("TaxBox", "we", "us" or "our") is a Dubai-based accounting and tax services firm, part of the Lynchpin group of companies. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it and the rights you have when you use our website, request a consultation, or engage us for accounting, VAT, corporate tax or CFO services.
We comply with the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL) and the data-protection rules that apply to free-zone entities operating in the UAE. By using our website or our services, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Who we are
TaxBox provides accounting, bookkeeping, VAT and corporate tax registration and filing, and CFO advisory services to businesses in the UAE. Our office is located in DWTC, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. You can reach us at support@taxbox.ae or +971 56 413 4400.
2. Information we collect
We collect information that you give us directly and information collected automatically when you use our website.
Information you provide: name, business name, job title, email address, phone and WhatsApp number, country of residence, the service you are interested in, and any details you share when you request a consultation, submit an enquiry, use our pricing calculator, or onboard as a client.
Client engagement data: if you become a client, we collect the financial, tax and identification records needed to deliver bookkeeping, VAT, corporate tax and CFO services. This may include trade licence copies, Emirates ID copies of authorised signatories, bank statements, invoices, payroll information and other accounting records.
Automatically collected: IP address, approximate location, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring URL and time spent on the site. We use this for analytics, security and to improve our website.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. Our services are intended for businesses and the people who run them.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries, schedule consultations and provide quotes;
- deliver the accounting, VAT, corporate tax and advisory services you engage us for;
- meet our regulatory and statutory obligations, including FTA filings and anti-money-laundering ("AML") and know-your-customer ("KYC") checks where applicable;
- send service updates, deadline reminders and account-related communications;
- send marketing communications about TaxBox services where you have opted in or where permitted by law — you can unsubscribe at any time;
- operate, secure and improve our website, including analytics and fraud prevention.
4. Legal basis
We process your information where we have a lawful basis to do so under UAE PDPL, including your consent, performance of a contract with you, compliance with a legal obligation (for example FTA, audit and AML requirements), and our legitimate interests in operating and promoting our business in a way that is proportionate and respects your rights.
5. Sharing your information
We treat your information as confidential. We share it only where necessary, with:
- other companies within the Lynchpin group that support our service delivery;
- regulators and authorities such as the UAE Federal Tax Authority, where required for VAT, corporate tax or other filings;
- trusted service providers that help us run our business, including accounting software (such as Zoho Books), cloud hosting, email, CRM, analytics and communication tools — all under appropriate confidentiality terms;
- professional advisers (auditors, lawyers) where reasonably required;
- parties involved in any sale, merger or restructuring of our business; and
- any party where you have given us consent or where disclosure is required by law.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. International transfers
Some of the tools we use may store data outside the UAE. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is protected by appropriate safeguards consistent with UAE PDPL.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry and consultation information for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. We keep client accounting, VAT and corporate tax records for the period required by UAE law (currently a minimum of seven years for tax records, and longer where other rules apply). After that, we delete or anonymise the information.
8. How we protect your information
We use a combination of administrative, technical and physical safeguards — including access controls, encrypted transmission, vetted vendors and confidentiality obligations on our team — to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No system is fully secure; if a breach affects your data we will follow our legal obligations to notify the relevant authority and, where required, you.
9. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses essential cookies to run the site and may use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use it. You can disable cookies in your browser, although some parts of the site may not work as intended.
10. Your rights
Subject to UAE PDPL and any applicable exceptions, you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office. 11. Third-party links
Our website may link to third-party sites (for example LinkedIn or Instagram). We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review their policies before sharing information with them.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated through our website or, where appropriate, directly to clients.
